Dr. William Andreoni
OPHTHALMOLOGIST

Dr. Andreoni was raised in Rhode Island and graduated from Scared Heart Academy. He then attended University of Rhode Island where he attained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry and English.
After receiving his MD from the University of Bologna, Italy and a year with Brown University, he performed General Surgery for one year at the Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY. He then completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Buffalo General Hospital.
Dr. Andreoni returned to Rhode Island to begin in general ophthalmology, specializing in cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation and laser surgery for glaucoma and diabetes.
He has continued a practice of excellence in the field of ophthalmology with the addition to his staff an outstanding support team of optometrists, Dr. Michael Bellucci and Dr. Charles Newell, along with highly trained and motivated technicians, and office personnel, who have allowed Ophthalmic Surgeons LTD to remain on the cutting edge of eye care.

Dr. Nikolas Raufi
OPHTHALMOLOGIST

A native of Rhode Island, Dr. Raufi is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract, laser, refractive, and glaucoma surgery.
Dr. Raufi completed his medical training at Albany Medical College in New York. He then went on to pursue an internship in Chicago, Illinois and after, continued to his ophthalmology residency at Duke University in North Carolina. To further refine his surgical and clinical skills, Dr. Raufi then completed a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Colorado in Denver.
Dr. Raufi is particularly interested in the refractive outcomes of his patients. He has spearheaded various research publications assessing the outcomes of cataract surgery patients and refractive surgery patients. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS), and the New England Opthalmological Society (NEOS).
He has subspecialty training in corneal diseases and laser corrective surgery, including LASIK, PRK, and laser-assisted cataract surgery. He also trained to treat mild/moderate glaucoma using MIGS (minimally invasive glaucoma surgery) to simultaneously treat patients with cataract and glaucoma. He has extensive experience with various cataract surgery lenses (multifocal, extended depth of focus, toric, monofocal) and laser-assisted cataract surgery.
Dr. Raufi enjoys cycling, traveling, podcasts, and most of all, spending time with his family. Dr. Raufi is accepting new patients.

Dr. Michael Bellucci
OPTOMETRIST

With nearly 30 years of clinical experience at Ophthalmic Surgeons Ltd., Dr. Bellucci has made his upmost priority to provide advanced quality care delivered with knowledge and compassion.
He is a 1994 valedictorian graduate of the New England College of Optometry. Aiming to provide the best care possible for his patients, Dr. Bellucci then furthered his studies with a clinical residency in ocular disease treatment and management through the Veteran’s Administration.
Dr. Bellucci served as the president of the Rhode Island Optometric Association and past chairperson of the association’s education committee.
He currently serves as a member of the Board of Examiners for the Rhode Island Department of Health aiming to ensure the highest standards of the profession are represented by all eye doctors within our state.
A lifelong Smithfield resident and a cum laude graduate of Providence College and Mount Saint Charles Academy, his pride is being the dad of Emma and Nathan.
It has always been Dr. Bellucci’s goal to serve his community as the “hometown” family eye doctor and he is grateful for all those that are a part of this practice.

Dr. Charlie Newell
OPTOMETRIST

Dr. Newell has been practicing Optometry for the last thirty years and has been an integral part of the Ophthalmic Surgeons team for two decades. He is a graduate of Springfield College 1987 and New England Optometry 1992. Early in his career, Dr. Newell practiced optometry while serving in the United States Army. He later worked in several large group practices prior to settling to his current position at Ophthalmic Surgeons twenty-one years ago.
Dr. Newell has a large diverse practice that serves patients from the pediatric population to the geriatric population. His caring, attentive, and compassionate care shows how his patients needs come before everything else. He regularly treats glaucoma, macular degeneration, and many other ocular health issues including routine care, refraction, and contact lens related issues.
Dr. Newell performs the vast majority of the practice’s pre-operative and post-operative care for cataract surgeries. He has a robust emergency care component to his practice and is available to meet your needs at a moment’s notice. He is always accepting new patients and participates with all major medical insurances.
Dr. Newell is married to his wife Lauri, and he has three grown daughters, Tessa, Alyssa, and Emma. He enjoys reading, gardening, and has passion for drawing and writing.

Dr. Arthur Corvese
OPTOMETRIST

As a solo practitioner of Optometry for nearly 30 years here in Johnston, Dr. Corvese has transitioned his practice and 43 years of experience to Ophthalmic Surgeons, Ltd.
A graduate of Providence College's Biology program in 1977, Dr. Corvese received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 1981. Beyond his optometry doctorate, he twice returned to the College of Optometry to receive his Rhode Island and Massachusetts certifications in therapeutic pharmaceutical and glaucoma treatment.
Dr. Corvese has extensive experience with a wide range of ocular conditions and disorders, with particular attention to infections and injuries to the eye and glaucoma. As a professional, he delivers his eye care with an emphasis on detail and discussion to ensure the patient's eye care needs are appropriately addressed. Dr. Corvese recognizes that the patient's understanding of their ocular condition, and the necessary care therewith, is vitally important for a successful outcome.
A life-long resident of North Providence, Dr. Corvese is pleased to be part of Ophthalmic Surgeons' team here in Johnston.
